Dress for Success

The way you are dressed will make all the difference in the quality of your photos.  For women, a dress or skirt with heels is always a good choice.  For men, closed toed dress shoes, a jacket and tie, will make you look refined and well put together. 

Coordinate Vs. Matching

Color coordinate your outfits, but avoid overly matching. A good rule of thumb is to choose 3 colors within the same family (i.e., pastel, jewel, or earth tones). Don’t be afraid to use various hues of each color.

Fashion trends will come and go, but your portraits will remain.  Choose simple and classic styles to give your photos a timeless feel.

 

Layer and Accessorize

The best way to add interest to your ensemble is by adding a few strategic accessories.  Scarves and jackets will give you a polished look, while jewelry and hats will pull everything together nicely.

 

Professional hair & makeup

Consider having your hair and makeup professionally styled to get the most out of your session. Even small details like manicured nails will make a noticeable difference

Schedule in enough time

Make sure to give yourself plenty of time for your hair and makeup appointments, so you can enjoy the experience and avoid stress.

 

Plan Ahead

As soon as your session is booked, you should be thinking about what to wear.  Start by looking through items you already have at home, and then go shopping for pieces you might need to add.

Don’t stress about how to pose or what to do during your session. All you have to do is show up, have fun, and leave the posing to yours truly.
